Description
The listing, NEW Ancient Ammonite marine fossil pierced earrings has ended.
NEW Ammonite fossil earrings for pierced ears. One ammonite fossil is cut thru the middle and polished to make a perfectly matched set of earrings! Highly polished. Backs show the real outside rough fossil like the pendant does. This is a beautiful natural specimen and has the lovely browns, sepias, and amber colors where the minerals filled in the openings in the original shell. A nautilus type of marine fossil. Shown with pendant. Pendant listed separately.
Wikipedia: Ammonites are an extinct group of marine invertebrate animals in the subclass Ammonoidea of the class Cephalopoda. These molluscs are more closely related to living coleoids (i.e. octopuses, squid, and cuttlefish) than they are to shelled nautiloids such as the living Nautilus species. The earliest ammonites appear during the Devonian, and the last species died out during the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.
