You CAN cook in them... or rather, you can BAKE with them.
Put the food to be heated up, such as leftover stir fry, add a bit of meat or seafood (I use ham or scallops), put them on a baking pan (line it with foil for ease of cleanup). If you are concerned they will tip over, you can pour a 1/4 thick layer of salt on top of the foil and nestle the shells in it. Put the filled shells into the oven at 350 for 30 minutes and you'll have a fun, delish meal using up your leftovers! Of course you can use it for many things, but that is my favorite way to use up the leftovers in my refrigerator.
