Growing patterns
Unlike most members of the Meconopsis genus, the Himalayan blue poppy follows a perennial growth pattern; it regrows each year.

Soil conditions
The Himalayan blue poppy requires nutrient-rich soil with a loamy, humus-rich texture. The soil should be moderately acidic, but the plant cannot tolerate added lime.
