This is a reproduction of the "Dimestore Dreams" Tonette #30600 invented in 1938. This was designed as a "pre-band instrument," used to teach children and adults how to read, play and hear music! "By 1941 over half of the grammar schools in the United States had adopted the Tonette as THE standard pre-band equipment" (Binary Arts Corp, 2000).

Included in the box is one black Tonette, manufactured for the key of "C," and a 25 page instructional book. The instructional book I found fascinating; when you open the first page, you will find within the preface, tips, techniques, and a brilliant introduction!
