Dont have original package, I bought two and they came in same package. One of them i sent to my mother in law, and i sent it in the original package. When you plug into your computer it gives you the instructions right to your computer, tells you everything to do. My mother in law loves it, thanks for looking :-)

If it has never been used then there should be a code with it to use to get the first year free of service it would have been on something in the package this was removed from.

Do you have one? I have never tryed to use it. My mother in law told me it showed her everything from her computer, has a sticker on back of it with instructions telling you to plug it to your computer and you go from there. Never asked her if she got the first year free, LOL.. all in all it is only 20 dollars A YEAR, and she loves it!

Yes I have one and love it but I got mine off here used from someone thing is I know in the stores they cost you 40 dollars brand new and that is because they get 20 dollars for the magic jack itself and then 20 dollars that covers the first year of service. That is why I say that about the free year service I am not sure where to look for a code or even if it just is automatic on it when you first set it up which might be how it works. I know if you got this from someone out of the pack you better plug it into your comp just to see what it does because I got one that was supposed to be brand new like that and they had hooked it up once and already set up an account so I had to go through a mess to get the right info so I could use it. Because if it has been plugged in and tried out even once then it has been set up so that means there is an email and a password you need to access the account to set it up on a different computer or to get into the account to change anything. But if you have the info and can send it with it then it is a breeze to change one over to new account holder or change the number but if you don't have it then it won't set up all the way even because to complete the setup it will ask you to sign in to the account that was already made you see.

Thanks for info, but i bought two of these off a t.v. commerical. And i am sure it works, or my mother in laws woulden't have worked. My auctions are one hundred percent, I have never tryed to use it because i didn't want to activate it. And by the way i just talked to my mother in law and she said she did get the first year free, and she set everything up with her computer and she uses it to this day and loves it !!

Well hey since you got it like that off tv then i am sure it is fine anyhow I just didnt know if maybe you had gotten from someone personally or online maybe through another auction. So hey great these are definitely very good and I like the fact if you have a laptop you could take your phone with you if you want wherever you go like on vacation or camping even! Be like having your home phone with you instead of a cell phone lol!

Then too for people that dont know this is a great way for you to connect with friends or relatives that dont have cell phones or free long distance--you simply set up the jack with a phone n umber using the area code that would be local for them to call then they can call all they want and it wont cost them and because the jack does free long distance you still can call anywhere else too! Pretty good little item for sure and beats any phone company or cell phone package on price!!
