The listing, 1966 comic book. The avengers has ended.
1966 The Avengers comic book. " The ultroids attack! " marvel comics. Has 12c on front. And 36 Jan. In good condition. Great 4 collectors. Good luck. ;)
It's an original, and I don't know where he got that $1,000 figure from. You can buy this comic, Avengers #36, in this condition, for about $5 on Ebay. In a comic book store, you'd probably have to pay around $20.
You can get the exact date on the first page of the book in small print at the bottom of the page, usually. The issue number is there too, but it's also on the cover of the book, so no need to search. Comic books were 12 cents until the late 60s, then 15 cents and 20 cent in the 70s, 25 cents in the early eighties and 75 cents by the end of the eighties. By the early 90s, they were $1 each, and these days the average comic book cover price is $3.99. After 20 years buying and selling comic books, I can tell you the price of any book just by looking at it. The price guide exists in my head.
If this IS a reprint it isn't worth near as much. Get it checked by somebody ( I would suggest going to a nearby comic shop ) and see for the value. If this really is 1966 you'd better look somewhere other than Listia, cause that's a fat stack of cash ( I would guess considering it's one of the first, AGAIN IF it is not a reprint )
