This is a new in package cooking club for kids gingerbread kit. This is real baking stuff. This kit includes mixing bowl, decorating pen, 3 gingerbread boy cookie cutters, 3 gingerbread girl cookie cutters and 4 gingerbread recipes. I bought several of these and my daughters had a blast making them.

Is the mixing bowl plastic, metal or ceramic?

The bowl is plastic, the bowl that we got out of the same type of kit are pretty heavy duty my girls use ours all the time to mix up cookies and cakes. They have even used a hand mixer with no damage.
