It is not gold plated it is just a really pretty costume jewelry ring the stones are beautiful !!!

Gold plated IS costume jewelry. Rhoda means is real solid gold? As in 14Kt ,or 10Kt? Or is it Sterling silver? (Would say Sterling or 925 on it usually , though not always, and sterling can be gold plated over it! Gold plating is like a gold coating over something, usually Brass or an alloy such as Nickel or Sterling silver.You say it's almost new, so you got it recently? If there were any tags on it ,that might tell you something. If not you can try putting a magnet to it (if it is drawn to the magnet it's a steel based alloy under gold plate , brass and copper aren't magnetic , nor are gold and silver, so that only tells you it's steel under the plating.

The yellow could be Citrine and the Green is the color of Peridot(I like both!)
