Hi very beautiful F&W&B. If u don't mind I would first like to welcome u to listia, then I would like to give u some advice on the post office and what happened to me recently. One of my jewelry items in an envelope was ran through the mail sorter and the sorter "ate" the bottom of my envelope and left a big hole in the bottom and the jewelry fell out and they never found it. The post master told me for future purposes of this happening what to do. First on the outside of the envelope write "HAND SCAN ONLY!! FRAGILE ITEM" in large bold letters on the front and back of envelope. Secondly take the item and place it in a small zip lock bag or a small zip lock jewelry bag or even wrap in plastic wrap then get some printer paper, notebook paper or a index card and tape that to it and fold it like a note. And last but not least after you have sealed it and it's ready to be mailed if you can give it to someone at the post office or your mail carrier so that it will not go through the mail sorter it will be hand scanned, by the way this costs no extra. I hope I didn't overstep my boundaries, I just wanted to give u a little info so that you items will not be lost. It has happened to me twice and they were gifts for my family. Thanks Christa for your advice. I will try this because I like to sell jewelry. I recently received two rings from Lista that were taped to the middle of a greeting card. They arrived in perfect condition. I recently researched thru Google about selling on Listia and people recommended that you buy cheap, large, heavy greeting cards in boxes at the dollar store and tape the jewelry item to the middle of the card. Of course, the jewelry item is in a plastic bag. They said the mail sorting machine stamps the top & bottom of the envelope but not the middle of the envelope. If I remember correctly, there is information in the post office's new regulations about charging extra to hand stamp an envelope. I think it is very low price. I love Listia and am looking for items to sell that can be placed in an envelope and mailed for the cost of one stamp.
