I have been using whichever is the less expensive option between Flat Rate and Priority Mail as determined by http://postcalc.usps.com/ The flat rate envelope that fits this is $5.95. The priority mail option would depend, of course, on your location and the weight. I *just* (10 minutes ago) ordered a postal scale, and should have it on Monday.
Really? I've been getting varied pricing on baby clothes even to similar locations, but I haven't paid HUGE attention to the final weights. I've just been going to the counter and basically saying "I need the least expensive shipping option that includes tracking for this item to go to this address." So far, the only thing that flat rate has generated a cheaper cost on was a pair of shoes. I'm very much looking forward to receipt of that postal scale next week so I can figure it all out on my OWN!
I don't know but that has been my findings but they have changed things. There is tracking on everything except stamped mail and if you use the self service machine.
You may be right. Just for curiousity, I checked rates on sending both a half pound and a pound package to Beverly Hills, and it generated the same rates. Until my postal scale comes, though, the site can really only effectively tell me how much flat rate shipping will be before I go to the post office to determine how much priority mail will be (and then decide between the two).
I have always found it to be the same. The only place you can save is using first class and Paypal shipping which includes tracking and insurance on first class..
