The listing, Root Beer Plant or Hoja Santa has ended.
The 'Piper Auritum' or Mexican pepperleaf has large velvety leaves with a smell similar to Sassafras and can reach 30" in length. Used in Mexico to wrap foods such as chicken and fish and is an essential ingredient of 'mole verde' and can be chopped and added to salads, eggs or some drinks. It is very popular in the Veracruz Province. The plant can reach 6'+. It likes full sun to part shade. I love this plant. I have it planted on the south side of my home to shade some tender plants there. Will die from frost but comes back. It does spread so read up on it. Hardy in Zones 8B-11. Will ship (1) rooted plant approximately 6-8" tall.
