The listing, Redbud tree seeds has ended.
For your pleasure, I am offering another packet of Oklahoma Redbud tree seeds. There are 25 seeds in the packet.
The seeds require stratification for sprouting. To stratify the seeds, first pick a date that should be past the last frost and count backwards 120 days. The resultant date will be the date to start the stratification.
Moisten a pint or so of peatmoss to the point that water no longer drips out when the moss is squeezed. Place the dampened peatmoss into a quart-sized sealable bag, add the seeds and mix together until the seeds seem more or less uniformly distributed throughout the peatmoss.
Now, place the sealed bag into the crisper drawer of your refrigerator. Maintain the seeds just above freezing (34-38 degrees). Check them every 30 days for proper moisture. Remove and plant the sprouted seeds into a seed pot. After the end of the 120 days, plant any remaining unsprouted seeds directly into the garden where they will not be disturbed for a year. Watch for sprouted seeds, transplanting each as it shoves it's head through the ground.
