I can't attest to before they came into my possession, but this is a smoke-free, NOT pet-free home. I'm sure my cat didn't read them at any time (he doesn't have thumbs to hold the book upright!),but they have been in the same general vicinity as my Cheerios (the cat) and those barking ankle biters that run around here. HA!
