I have a wifi hotspot From Virgin Mobile that works great for laptop and xbox, but my desktop does not pick it up. I was told I could use a usb wireless adapter for the desktop. Is this what I need please?

Nice item, I like it! I have a desktop that doesn't get wireless either, but it is wired in. OMG, I just looked out the window and it's snowing again .... ugh.
