The listing, Red Zinger Hibiscus Seeds 40+ Viable Free ship, Beautiful many uses! has ended.
Known as Jamaican sorrel, Rozelle, or red zinger hibiscus. This plant produces,so easily as shown in the picture, they are similar to a hibiscus plant, but flowers only last a short time. However they continue to bloom throughout the whole spring winter season. You'll be blessed with your own share of seeds, and the red fruit that is used from the calyxes to make jicama tea. The tea is kinda tart flavor, but it is harvested from peeling skin from ripe pods, washing then sun drying. It is also used to make a fabulous wine, if your into trying your skills at that. I add a bit a sugar or honey to sweeten, and then the flavor is pleasant, and would be great for soda water addition also. One thing I would say is that its more like a plant than a vine, but some might prefer that. It grows about three feet to four feet tall, and is a show piece in the yard with lovey bright red calyxes, pink flower blooms, and a dark green leafy foliage, that is sometimes eaten as spinach, in salads by those who know it nutritional value, as well, the tea is very good for you packed with vitamins. Also the red fruit from this flowering plant would make a nice dye for fabrics also.
