The listing, Authentic vintage Indian silver necklace with ivory thunderbird, 1960's. has ended.

This was given to me during the "flower children" craze. The owner was from the four corners (where all the southwest Indian reservations are), but that is all I know about him. It is 14" long with silver and turquoise beads and bone spacers. It is a very lovely piece.

Sorry about the delay. I overlooked the measurements. The carved ivory thunderbird is the size of a 50-cent piece or about 1-1/2 inch.

It is a barrel (screw together) clasp. And it is actually easy to do. I forgot to mention that it is a choker size at 14-inches. I may be an inch off, but that would be 15" instead of 14".

Yes, I think so too. Thank you. I have given my mocassins, cedar boxes (carved), totem poles, and other Native American pieces to the Burke Museum where I got to go as a child and learn Indian cultures. I have been to pow wows as a guest. But the books I put on Amazon because I want others to read them and enjoy them. They are mostly out of print now. I am really glad it is getting such a nice reception.
