Luna Pink Swirl Hibiscus Seeds

Hummingbirds love this Rose Mallow, while deer tend to give it a miss.

Giant 6-8-inch Blooms

These seeds are from this Summers (2013) plants.

The first Rose Mallow to bloom from seed THE FIRST YEAR -- no more waiting around for
those huge, lovely blooms! And what a terrific variety it is, with 8-inch flowers that
swirl open each morning to reveal a cranberry-red center, crepe-like white petal,
and lilac-pink markings that resemble the blades of a fan. Altogether an easy and
very, very heavy-blooming sun-lover, it is icing on the cake that this native perennial
is beloved by hummingbirds and shunned by deer!
These flowers are the size of dinner plates, and they almost hide the foliage at the height
of bloom season, crowding onto well-branched but compact plants just 2 to 3 feet tall and
about 2 feet wide. Expect the first buds to unfurl in midsummer, followed by dozens more
before the season ends in late fall.
Luna Pink Swirl gleams in the late afternoon and twilight garden, its pure white tones
outlasting the darker reds and purples of the sunny garden. It will put you in mind of
luna moths, and is an excellent choice near the patio or deck where evening entertaining
occurs.
This Hibiscus likes very moist, even wet soils, growing happily at water's edge.
During dry spells give it extra moisture as needed to keep the flowers coming. Beyond this,
it is virtually carefree. Zones 5-10..Light Requirements: Full Sun
Moisture Requirements Moist, well-drained, Wet
Resistance: Deer Resistance, Heat Tolerant
Soil Tolerance:Clay, Normal, loamy, Poor, Sandy
Uses: Border, Hedge

Sure you can. I would start with a four inch pot, and three seeds. Not all seeds will grow. So it can be 4 seeds if you want. I see you live in snow, cold land too. I am across the boarder in MI.LOL Just make sure they get enough water. Don't let try out. At first use a spray bottle to water, till they are at least a few inches in height. DO NOT plant out side or sit outside till danger of frost is gone. The first year watering is important to establish. After you set out they will grow bigger. They die down at the end of season leaving seed pods where blooms were. My pods I get easily 30-50 seeds or more. Take pods off after they dried out on plant otherwise you will have growing everywhere.LOL i ALWAYS give extra seeds, because like I said not all seeds will grow. Its part of nature taking care of its own. I think if you leave in a pot will inhibit its grow after a point, so find a place to plant. After that first year they take care of themselves. The blooms get the size of a plate and look like a big paper flower. You will love them. I get lots of compliments on them.
