Here is a genuine shipwreck coin!

The coin is a copper "X. Cash" coin with the East India Company and 1808 year on the obverse and reverse has the denomination in Persian and English.

The coin is from the wreck of the Admiral Gardner, which sank in a storm in the English Channel on the 25th of January, 1809. The ship was carrying these coins to pay workers in Bengal and Madras, the coins were minted in England at the Birmingham Mint. The shipwreck was found and salvaged in 1984.

This lot includes the coin, a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Martin Minerals, and a brochure about the Admiral Gardner.

The coin measures 25 millimeters in diameter.

The COA is a bit wrinkly, the brochure has some staple holes and a little writing on it.
