I love this set and wished I needed it. Right now I have an extra set to list too. LOL But this one is gorgeous, if I had not actually bought one and paid alot for it, I would snatch this one up in a second! And I'm a grandma, raised two children and had one bumper in my granddaughters crib too and no problems ever!

I think it's fine to be cautious, better than regret! I have not seen any crib sets with the mesh bumpers yet, but might be the way to go

WARNING: This style of crib bumper has been discontinued in most stores due to baby suffocation hazard. They have started using breathable mesh crib liners now! Just an FYI to seller and bidder alike :)

I recently sold my set of baby girls crib bedding. When I found out about the discontinued status, I threw the one I had like this out and it was brand new. I did not feel comfortable giving a hazardous item to another child.

Please be cautious when putting a baby in a crib with bumpers that they are tightly fastened and flush with the crib mattress, not above it!!

I am leaving this up for all to see...the set itself is still very nice and useable..weather or not you choose to use the bumper is up to you...I have raised 10 children with this type of bumper without issue..if you do not want the bumper, but still want the rest of the pieces let me know and I will exclude the bumper in your set

I have 4 kids. I used bumper with first three, no issues but had a co-worker whose kid suffocated by rolling into the bumper and not being able to roll away. Other suffocation hazards are slipping between mattress and bumper if not properly placed and fastened. I just want everyone to know the facts. Knowledge is power :)

I used mesh with my last and it really does seem to be a better option if a newer child were to roll into it, they could still breath through it. Plus it is thinner and uses tightening Velcro as opposed to tie downs all the way across preventing babies from slipping behind it The sets do not come with them yet, or at least they had not in early 2012.. They are everything but bumper and then you buy the mesh liner separate.

Babies R Us had informed me of the switch to mesh in early 2012, so there is no telling if all sets are off the shelves that still have bumpers. Just do your research everyone.

This set is gorgeous, and the mesh liners are only $20-30 bucks brand new with multiple colors available :) Winner could definitely modify appropriately. Good luck LUVMALL and thanks for keeping the knowledge up for all to see, as it is a parents right to be informed :)

yes, each valance is 88 long x14 deep..they also have 2 pockets to hang with either a standard curtain rod or a wide one
