The listing, Rare yellow Christmas Cactus has ended.
This rare Christmas Yellow Cactus is a real break-through. The shiny, many-petalled, tubular flowering tips are a delicate, lemony-yellow. It has shiny, typical Christmas Cactus stem-joints and arching, pendulous branches. The Christmas Yellow Cactus has charming yellow, jewel-like blossoms appear in December and often bloom through February. Very hard to find.will send four sections
Yes, I know it is beautiful. Now I know what I did wrong. I didn't water from the bottom. I thought that might make a difference. Also I had it in a southern window (it's the only one I have in the rest home) but it has a heat register right below the window. I want this - would be great in the rest home :)
Check that your plant is getting enough darkness. These cacti require at least 13 hours of continual darkness to trigger blooming. As the days get shorter in mid-September, place your plant in a room where you rarely turn on the lights. The garage is a good choice. Even artificial light can discourage blooms.
2 Choose an area with a regularly cool temperature. The basement is another option. These plants respond well to prolonged periods of cooler temperatures. You can not get flowers to bloom if the temperature at night is above 70 degrees F. Between 50 to 55 degrees F is ideal.
They mostly just droop over the sides , 6 or 7 sections long . Water once a week , No direct sunlight . Water from the bottom every now & then . & Mine do great , beautiful plant .
That is good information, BUT I am in a rest home and there is no garage or basement. What about to make the darkness how about putting a brown paper bag over it? When should I start with that?
