yes it will work iphone. you just put the batteries in it and plug it into the phone, mp3 player whatever your using. turn your car radio onto am and tune in with the transmitter til you hear the music. it's really easy. i have one in my car and truck both. i hope this helps. :).

do you hook it up to the car with an aux cord or the cigarette lighter/charger to work?

nope you plug your device into it. put the batteries in it. turn it on and and slowly turn the dial on the side til you hear your music. put your car radio on am not fm. it doesn't connect to the car in any way.
