I really like this flower. However, it will not grow in Florida. Good luck with your bidding, they are very unusual.

Why doesnt it grow in Florida? I couldnt find anything that said what states it would grow in. Have you thought about container gardening? That might be an option so that you can grow this beautiful flower.

I would think so. It says that they are being grown throughout the west. I am not sure type of soil you have in texas, but if you think there might be a problem, then try growing them in containers. with store bought soil, through out your garden or somewhere you could have a container garden.

where in MI are you? Do they overwinter at all? (Sorry I'm new to gardening)!

Hi Jenn, I live in Tustin. It is about half way between Grand Rapids and Traverse City. I have not planted these yet here. But my best advice is to treat them as an annual. It states that it reseeds easily, so I would plant it, then collect seeds to start the next year. If you are wanting to over winter them, then I would suggest putting them in containers around your garden, then bring them in during the witner. Once spring has arrived again...and it is no longer frosting or freezing at night, then place them back outside in the sun. This is the best answer I can give. Hope it helps. Are you from Michigan?

Yep! About 1/2 hr West of Detroit, so I guess you would be a bit far to pick up! I did put some of my pots in the garage...insulated but not heated. I'll have to see how those are in the spring, if anything comes back. These are so pretty!
