Fifty years ago the UK used a larger copper penny for fractional currency, before decimalization.For all issues from 1860 to 1970, the basic reverse design remained similar, with Britannia seated facing right, holding a shield and trident, the words ONE PENNY and the date in the exergue below.

The copper penny pictured is hand cut out from this genuine coin. Using only a drill and jewelers saw, the background area of the coin you see missing is removed leaving the remaining design intact as shown.
This size is a large same as our fifty cent piece.
