The listing, 4 Used U.S. Commemorative Setenant Stamp #4153-4156 41¢ Pollination Series has ended.
The four commemorative stamps featured depict: two Morrison's bumble bees paired with purple, or chaparral, nightshade; a calliope hummingbird sipping from a hummingbird trumpet blossom; a lesser long-nosed bat preparing to "dive" into a saguaro flower; and a Southern dogface butterfly visiting prairie, or common, ironweed. An intricate graphic scheme emphasizes the ecological relationship between pollinators and plants and also hints at the biodiversity necessary to ensure the future viability of that relationship. The four designs are arranged in two alternate blocks that fit together like interlocking puzzles. In one block, the pollinators form a central starburst. In the other, the flowers are arranged in the center. I've displayed the four stamps both ways so you can see how they interlock together. A very attractive issue for nature lovers. Issued in 2007 Scott #4153-4156. Stamps shown are the exact stamps you will receive. You only get the four stamps in the picture.
