Does not include batteries but take AA batteries. When i put batteries in this plays music Old McDonald and a few other friendly tunes. That red button at the bottom there lights up and you can use that to start/stop and change the tune. used and there are a few light scratches but over all in good condition. You have to make sure that the batteries sit in the right way with the lid for this to play but once its perfect it sounds great! :)
