you need to give us a little more info. is thier any stampings on the clasps.? how vintage is it? any name as to the maker makers ? is it a solid gold and will you ship to Canada? thank you
Just set it on a magnet. If it sticks, it's some kind of base metal. If it doesn't, it's real. Make sure you use a powerful enough magnet though (the small fridge magnets won't work)...
PS: markings can & do get worn off, especially w/vintage jewelry that was worn a lot. For instance, even though it's not vintage, my wedding ring is 10K yellow gold. It's real, been appraised, etc. BUT... the markings are almost completely gone, cuz I've worn it, non-stop, for 16+ years. My engagement ring was made in around 1890. The marking are so faint as to be pretty much unreadable (except for 1, that we can make out w/100X mag). We know there were more markings, but they've worn off, & all we have is a few tiny spaces that aren't level w/the rest of the ring...
