This brooch has a simple, yet elegant look to it. It was sold to me as being Rhodium plated, with Onyx stones.

Rhodium is one of the noble Precious metals, a member of the Platinum family, that is often used to plate (actually, electro-plate, with a "rhodium Flash"),over Sterling Silver, Platinum or White Gold. The reason being, that it rendered the original metal free from corrosion, tarnish & scratching.

Not having any other History, as well as it being unbranded, I cannot 100% guarantee that to be fact, However, this brooch is a very well made piece that is corroborated by the soldering on the back & by the Dog- toothed settings on the stones.
The composition is very appealing & this would be a lovely addition to your Vintage Jewelry collection. It will incorporate very easily to your wardrobe if you choose to wear it as well.
It measures 2 1/8" x 1"
