Description
The listing, Three 1934,1943 Detroit, Michigan used covers, old envelopes has ended.
Two old envelopes from 1943 with Detroit, Michigan postmarks or cancellation. "Buy US savings bonds" it says on one cancellation. One to Lucy Leonard with Unionville, Michigan postmark dated Dec. 23, 1934. That one has the stamp in lower left corner upside down. All three have not been cut or torn open, flaps intact. Olga Radvansky was my mother in law, married Timothy Luther. Lucy Leonard was my father in law's grandma.
Is the Radvansky family of Detroit in any way related to the Polish Radvansky/Radwansky (name was changed at Ellis Island, to reflect English pronunciation, as a Polish letter "v" is sounded like an English "w," and vis-a-vis) family of Somerset County, NJ?
