Description

The listing, Andis heavy duty variable speed clipper with extra blade. has ended.

This is a heavy duty Andis clipper with an extra cutting head. All the clippers I owned were good clippers and did a marvelous job. Andis clipper guides can be purchased on almost any auction site for a mere few dollars. You might even get an extra clipper! I mention this because I am not good at cutting hair without a guide and I personally think it makes it a lot easier on the dog. Summer is coming and you need to think about not subjecting your dog to the heat with a heavy cost. I causes problems with fleas, ticks, and other unhealthy things for both your children and your dog.

The clipper head on the clipper is a AG, size 10-1/2 mm. The clipper head that is pictured here is an AG, 5FC, 5 mm. Two completely different heads; one for clipping short and one for leaving a 1-1/2 inch coat. You scissor trim the feathers, if your dog has them.

Enjoy your bidding, regardless of what you choose to bid on.

If you bid on "buy it now," I will be happy to pay the shipping. The weight is 9 lbs 10 oz (they are not light) and I would send it parcel post, tracking.

What a beautiful name you have. I don't know how dull it might be. Personally I would send both blades for sharpening. My dog (who has passed now) had more hair than a woolly mammoth. What does that tell you? Before I got through with her head, the unit was overheating. She was HAIRY. So I don't know because I have not used it in many years. I bought the OSTER instead. This has sat in storage, so I did turn it on and teased the cats, but I have not used it. I don't know the condition of the blades.

Let me see, this is the Andis. I think that you would want to have the blades sharpened (I would) because I noticed some rust on one of them. It was dry and I could have cleaned it if I had been able to find my wire brush, but we are in disarray with moving. I actually used my Oster clipper on my dog because her coat was so thick and heavy (like a St. Bernard, only worse), and only the Oster would do the job without overheating. It was a problem even the professional groomers had with her. Massive undercoat. Wow. So the Andis was purchased and I tried to use it, but by the time I got through with her head, the Andis would be hot. So I invested another $200 in the Oster, which I should have done in the beginning. Don't get me wrong, the Andis is a first rate clipper. I was over-working it then. So rather than burn it out, I bought the Oster, which I am keeping for my grandchildren, who have a rather large hairy critter. They need it. I hope that answers your question. Please ask more if you need to.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Our animal friends are as much a part of our family, if not more so, than the humans, so i understand completely. My heart goes out to you on that. I really appreciate the thoroughness of your answer. I can't say that our doggie is as hairy but she sheds like you wouldn't believe and until our clippers died we kept her coat short. Will be watching and bidding. Also fanned you! Thanks so much!

Thank you, you are very kind. My dogs had to put up with me more than I ever had to put up with them. One day I rescued a raccoon who had been caught in a trap. He was so toxic that I had to amputate his hind foot and part of his tail. He paid me back by biting my kennelboy in the thumb!!! Then he got into the attic and would not come down until I put out cat food for him. What a rascal. As soon as he healed up, he went to a sanctuary run by the Fish & Game warden. They were always bringing me their accidents. I have so many stories. I have nursed a fawn, a baby bear, a kangaroo -- you name it. It has been a very good life when I remember all my pet friends. Thank you for the fan. I will return the favor.

I am REALLY sorry. When Lady Madonna IV died, I could not speak for four days. I know how hard it is to let go. She stayed at my side like glue for the two days that I grieved for my father. She was so tuned in to me. Those of us who are pet lovers seem to be a little different from other people. I have been able to handle any animal and not get bitten or clawed, even predator birds. They seem to sense that I would never hurt them. Now I have two Siamese/Manx cats who are characters, 12 years and getting younger by the minute. I am trying to find a place where they can run again -- freedom. And yes, if you buy it now, I will pay shipping. I don't care what it costs. I will get it to you by priority mail. My word.

i just have a few questions first do u have attachments and they still work right

No, I only have the guides (which is what I think you mean by attachments) for the WAHL. There are lots of them for the WAHL. But I never took the time to get the Andis guides because after two sessions with the Andis, it was clear that it was not the clipper I needed for Lady. It does have an extra blade though. I understand Andis has a website and you can order the guides for something like $13. Is that what you wanted to know.

what i ment by attachments are the plastice pieces that go onto it that dont allow it to go completely short and to do different lengths and why are u charging so much for shipping not that i mind it is your auction u can charge what u want i know that the price for the bubble wrappling alone is not cheap anymore but u can go to the postal service and get a box and for one price if it fits it ships and there is a box it will fit in for 10.00 and for that and bubble wrap it will fit in.just to make it cheaper wheather who pays for it. just to letu know. i am still unsure if i want it or on if i winit of cours i will take it but just to let u know. hope you get good bids on it it is a good brand and with a extra blade it is well worth it. and if it had guides with it u would probably get more bids. i think i have some running around here for that brand i dont have any more but they wont get to u intime. and if i dont win it if the winner finds me i would be more than happy to look for them. good luck on the auction and it is a good one to let u know great brand

Thank you, because you are right about the shipping. It will cost only $10.70 for priority mail. I have Stamps.com because I send so many packages every day, and they do not show you the cheapest way, just all the alternatives. I missed that I could send this priority mail cheaper than by parcel post because of the new rulings. Thank you very much for bringing it to my attention.
I knew exactly what you meant by the accessories (the guides). But remember, I did not use this clipper because it was not the right one for my dog, so after the second attempt to use it, it was cleaned and put in storage. I never had the chance to consider buying the guides. You can get them online. Thank you for your questions, and the advice about the "if it fits, it ships." Usually that is not cheaper for me, but this time it rules.

your welcome i just thought u might want to know. either way it was fine my dog is a poodle and when i bought hers it lasted almost 8 years and they were the same brand so there a excellent brand. i would stand by them that is for sure she just turned 9 last october and just before her birthdya they quit and so now she goes to the groomer she is getting older and not lkeing to have it done. but she needs it gets to hot for her in the summer and even sometimes in the winter with our woodstove. but thats ok these would come in hand to anyone so good luck to me or anyone who bids. things like this should be in a bold auction gets peoples attention but that is ok. i will be glad to have them. would you take postal stamps instead of cash or concealed cash then.

I think I am experiencing deja vu. Didn't I just answer this? But it does not appear, so here we go. I am going to send the clippers via Priority mail. They will track, so I don't have to worry, and it is only $4.95!!

PeggySue, it is really dangerous to send money by mail. But hold off on anticipating the shipping. I think there is something wrong with my meter. It is 0.5 lb off and charging me. I am a little angry about it. Let me figure out what is going on because it will be cheaper to send it by priority mail which I believe is $10.70 and it comes with tracking. That settles it; it is going by USPS priority.

No, I really do not want you out in that weather for a money order. I will pay the postage. I thought it was going to be more than this, but this is reasonable and you have been wonderfully reasonable and patient. It will go out today. And you did not say anything that would anger me. I just would like to toss this Stamps.com weigher out the window never to be seen again!!! It has cost me a bundle in overpaid postage. And I know they will never make it right, sooooo. That is life. It will go out today. And I hope that the Andis serves you well and long. If for any reason you feel unhappy about it, please let me know. Now I have to check and see if I have left feedback for you. -- KJ
