I have a black baby k'tan carrier that has the option to switch sides so baby can have breathable fabric (mesh) in summer or cotton when its colder. still have the book it came with to show the different positions it can be used for. Just bought in march and used only three times. I just never thought to use it. No stains or rips. excellent condition.

I believe you can carry up to 40lbs. I'd have to double check the book, but it may even be up to 50. Whether your back can take it or not.... that's another story.

There are different positions for carrying toddlers as well, so its not so hard on your back.
