ipod touch 2nd gen 8gb for parts or repair bad audio jack and needs a new screen the ribbon cable is broken that is why it needs a new one could be a cheap easy fix for someone who has sodering skills or knows someone who does because the parts you need to fix it you can get on eBay for probably less than $10

it will not play music the audio jack needs replaced if you put headphones on sometimes you get sound out of one ear but it fades in and out

oh ok well that kinda sucks but id be ok with no sound for at least a while or maybe i could find a way to combine my old one with it to make a decent working one then just buy a digitizer for whichever one lol

no sound at all except sometimes when you put the headphones in sometimes you get sound out of the right ear

ok 1 last question about the audio.... what ur saying the headphone thing doesn't work? so does the sound work for when u don't have headphones in? or is there just no sound at all?

ah lol well i was looking into mine and just holding it and it snapped XD they're very fragile on the inside lol i've dropped mine many times and never had a problem with it.... well there was one weird thing that happened.... i couldn't plug it into a wall without it pretty much freezing up.... well i mean if it wasn't completely dead i could but if it was dead and i plugged the usb into a wall charger it would come back on and it wouldn't let me unlock it so i had to let it die and plug it back up to my laptop

me trying to fix it lol I have replaced screens before but I accidentally snapped the ribbon cable and after that I just let it sit for a few months and I started a new job and have no time for it I was going to give it to my son to play games on but he is getting a tablet for Christmas

haha yeah mine is messed up worse than that one is so i think i could do something with that one mine has the problem that does and more x.x the backlight on mine doesn't work idk if its the lcd screen thats messed up or the logic board cant get it completely apart cause theres a stripped screw in it.... it got wet i imagine that the screw got partially corroded and trying to get it out made it worse lol but i learned a lot about them from this experience

is it the lcd cable thats broken or the touch screen cable thats broken? actually im guessing its the touch screen (digitizer) thats broken cause i see that the lcd is on ok yeah i might bid on it :) but yeah u can get more for it than that rude person was saying..... most ipods on here are going pretty high but yeah i need a new one or at least one for parts so this could be helpful for me at least :) if nothing else i could buy a new digitizer for it pretty cheap im watching :)

it does turn on but the ribbon cable on the underside of the screen that connects to the lcd is broken so it doesn't respond to touch if you buy a replacement screen it usually comes with a new ribbon cable on it

How does it work well if touch is non responsive?

who am I misleading it's the very first sentence of the description it states for parts or repairs if it were fixed it would work well and being rude will get you blocked also I don't mislead people on my auctions if you want proof all you have to do is look at my feedback
