I too had a good Christmas, I didn't cook, I didn't help prepare, I didn't help clean up either...no labor for a change - it was no doubt different for me! Had no messes to clean up after company left! All I did was pay for and supply the ham! I was so blessed this Christmas!

I feel so much compassion for this woman who is handicapped and walks with a cane because diabetes has affected her nerves and complicates her abilities to walk!

You're to to funny! And actually I'd love to move up North but it'll never happen. My husband is to adverse to extreme cold.....I love it! Certainly much more so than the horrid heat and even worse, the humidity of the South.

We just had another blast come down from Canada - it is 12F at my place - I am dripping water from m kitchen sink to help insure my water pipes don't freeze up. We got another 4-6" snow yesterday and last night... I love the snow - don't care for temps below 20F...brrrr

I'd love to have a white Christmas....haven't had one since my last Christmas in Sioux Falls, SD in 1991. And I don't mind the cold but hate those high heating bills and the warm up time for the car. In ND and SD every vehicle has an engine block heater that you have to plug into electricity to keep the engine warm enough to start and of course to prevent the engine block from cracking. I originally moved to the Dakota's in 1973. The day we arrived I remember being puzzled because all the vehicles had an electric plug sticking out from the grill. We didn't understand why until waking up the morning after our first night in Minot, ND. We had a Chrysler 300 and it wouldn't start. We had to have it towed and as fate would have it, the engine block had cracked that very first night! Needless to say, we initially weren't very happy....

Know what you mean! When I lived in Florida my home was in a rural area way off the road and the beaten trail.....Seems everyone dumped their kitties off at 1/4 miles driveway up to my secluded home. At times I had in upwards of a dozen or more kitties that I was feeding....

In spite of the snow and cold, family & the cost of living have kept the thought of moving to OH at the forefront of our consideration. We've both lived in freezing cold, he in upstate NY and I in ND & SD. Brrrrr.....Those two states frequently hold the record for coldest temps in the contiguous 48 states.

TY you so much OrangeCats....He my 7 y.o. Manx and weighs in at nearly 21 lbs. He's always been a big boy but was always under 20#'s until this last year so we're trying to get his wt. back down. He doesn't realize he's a feline. He acts more like a dog and actually has very few traits of a common domestic kitty. From your user name, I take it that you're a kitty lover as well....
