The Department issued this 4-cent stamp through the New York, New York, post office on October 18, 1960, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Boys' Clubs of America movement. This organization was renamed the "Boys & Girls Clubs of America" in 1990.
Designed by Charles T. Coiner, the stamp features the profile of a boy's face on the right of the stamp. The lettering and dates are placed on the left side to balance the piece.
