Here's a link to help if you have future questions. A GoPhone is an AT&T prepaid phone. No annual contracts or credit checks. You just have to activate this phone and then you can choose a plan and purchase your 30 day supply of service, you can choose an automatic refill option with a credit/debit card or just purchase as you go when you get towards the end of your 30 days. It allows you the freedom of terminating/upgrading phones/changing plans at any given moment. Hope this helps!
Well this is a great phone. It's very easy to use, laid out like a blackberry and you get to choose what type of 'plan' you want. I have not shopped the go phone options so I don't know what the rates are. The link I posted earlier would be a good one to use to search for rates. This is the type of phone I got my daughter as her first phone, to use until she learned to take care of one and got familiar with all that comes having a cell phone. Great if you need an emergency phone or just need an additional phone for a undefined period of time and can't or don't want to pay a deposit or get into a contract or any other of those fees that come with buying a phone and getting service. We still use 'GoPhones' for our kids, now they are teenagers and they sometimes get grounded, we can let the time expire on the phones and re load minutes when they earn the phone back with NO late fees or fines.
It's a prepaid phone. I guess (not sure) you could have it unlocked to??? I'm not sure why that would be necessary. You purchase prepaid cards to refill it OR you can go online at ATT and refill with debit/credit card OR you can dial 611 from the phone and refill it with a debit/credit card. GoPhone cards can be purchased nearly anywhere like Wal-Mart, K-mart, Target, 7-11, Walgreens, CVS, almost any gas station and about 100 more places. I'm not sure if that helps I'm just not sure what anyone could gain by trying to use another 'carrier'. There's no contract or other details that would entail interaction with a 'carrier'? If this doesn't help maybe there are more specifics you could give me about your inquisition. Thank you for asking and let me know if I can be of any other help.
It won't just work with straight talk minutes. Maybe a straight talk sims could be put in it or it could be 'unlocked' for straight talk, I'm really not sure not really my expertise here. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
