Description

The listing, Bakelite Clip, with Rhinestones/Paste(?) has ended.

I tried to find an exact definition for what it called Paste, and so far the only thing I've found was that anything in a cut clear glass stone, prior to 1940 was paste! Going back to Roman times! This seems a but odd to me , because I would think any cut crystal would fit that category, if it was before 1940.So, I cannot swear that this is paste, it is also very much like modern rhinestones , but the color looks different. At any rate this is a clip, I'd say it is Bakelite, but I'm no authority ,on that either, though I've had many Bakelite pieces , before! There is a Patent number of the back, but nothing else. It's a lovely green with a nice design and probably is Art Deco from around the 1930's. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! Shipping is to be paid by Postal Money order or by concealed cash wrapped in a piece of paper or card in an envelope. And before I forget, Happy Holidays!!

Hello!
This is a lovely clip.
As for paste, that's just it. It's pasted in.
They didn't want to use the word 'glued' so they opted
for 'paste.'
Rhinestones pasted in.
I adore Art Deco.
I'll be watching, for sure!!
Good luck!

It has the Patent # too and I should have checked it could be Albert Phillipe , who worked as a Designer for Cartier it certainly does have the look of Cartier! He later joined Trifari to create fantastic high end Fashion jewelry, much of which gets higher prices that real diamonds!! (see my Trifari Auction , too!)
