I am a huge fan of 'Secret Garden' and this CD 'Dawn of a New Century' is an amazing work of art. I have 2 copies of this particular CD thus thought I'd share it here on Listia!! Jewel case a bit scratch yet CD is perfect!!

"For those unfamiliar with the duo's New Age chart success, Secret Garden was a secret no more thanks to Josh Groban who sang their "You Raise Me Up" for a worldwide TV audience estimated at 900 million viewers one Super Bowl. ...introduction to the mix of Nordic, Celtic & New Age music, & the ethereal beauty and romance, of one of neo-classical/New Age's most popular artists.

Composer/keyboard player Rolf Lovland was already one of Norway's most successful pop songwriters, earning a Norwegian Grammy, charting more than 60 national hits and winning the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest with "La der Swinge" when he met Irish violinist Fionnuala Sherry during the 1994 competition. Sherry had performed with Sinéad O'Connor, the Chieftains, Van Morrison & the RTE (Radio Television Eire) Concert Orchestra. Together as Secret Garden, they won the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest with "Nocturne," the first instrumental track to take home top honors in the competition's 40 years."

Primarily instrumental. You can go to youtube and pull up this album and get an idea of the type of music on this CD. It's really great music. A mix of Celtic, Scandanavian a little Eastern European influence. I'm a big fan of Secret Garden. Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!!
