Cultivated since antiquity, this rare dwarf banana is considered the most precious of sacred flowers by the Dai and Bulang Buddhist ethnic minorities of China’s Southern Yunnan province. It represents the embodiment of charm and kindness. While actively cultivated, it is believed to be extinct in the wild. The plant gets its name from the large yellow upright flower produced from the top of the leafless pseudostem. Flowering lasts for 6 to 9 months. The plant is a natural dwarf, reaching 4 to 6 feet high. Unlike other bananas, the Golden Lotus Banana will thrive in areas with a distinct winter season. They are hardy to USDA climate zone 7 and possibly to zones 5 and 6.

This Auction is for 10 seeds. These seeds are not easy to find. nor cheap. They cost around 1 to 2 dollars a piece, PLUS your are going to pay $5 to $15 in shipping.

This rare and extinct in the wild banana lotus is one of the most adored plants in all of the world.

Once it blooms it can actually be cut off and survive for a full month without water on display. They bloom for over six months at a time if left intact. This does not produce banana's:)
