1973 YF-12 Supersonic Flight Space Cover in 4-page folder - #59 in a series - Space Philately. Space Philately is the collecting of space covers and memorabilia related to space exploration (manned & unmanned).
The Lockheed YF-12 was an American prototype interceptor aircraft, which the USAF evaluated as a development of the highly secret Lockheed A-12, which also spawned the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. The YF-12 is the world's largest manned interceptor to date.
The 4-page folder contains the following:
Page 1 of the card-stock folder features a photo of the YF-12 aircraft.
Page 2 features a photo of the YF-12 and test pilot Don Mallick.
The 1973 YF-12 test flight space cover (tan colored) is mounted on Page 3. This was the 65th mission and the pilot was Don Mallick.
A detailed diagram of the Lockheed YF-12 is shown on page 4.
This is #59 in a series of collectibles in folders. These folders are not officially issued by NASA or the USPS. This is a new way of collecting FDCs & space memorabilia of all kinds.
