since I can't seem to get anyone to answer my question and you seem to know about tattooing supplies.. can a person tattoo themselves with just using a needle by hand? Sorry it's a stupid question but I don't know much about the supplies.

Back in the day ppl would use a sewing needle with string wrapped around the end and India ink and poke the skin hundreds of times. I dont think you could use tattoo needles for the same effect. The speed the needle needs to move
and the needles themselves are specific to the tattoo art and usually require a specific machine and ink type...Hope this helps (:

Depends on the needle a 3RL makes a smaller outline versus a 9RL which makes a larger outline.... its just a matter of preference for the work your doing. Hope this helps (=
