Questions & Comments
I know it works with meters too because I'm an Army vet and that's all we used. You have 9 beads on one string and 4 beads on the other. Every 10 meters or 100 meters you move down one of the nine beads. When you move the 9th bead that's 90 or 900 meters. When you count another 10 or 100 meters you move up all the nine beads up and move down one of the four beads so you start over moving down one of the nine beads till you run out then moving one of the four. Every time you move one of the four it's ten times one of the nine. So when you run out of the four it's 500 meters if you started with one of the nine being 10 meters or 5000 meters if you started with the nine being 100 meters each. The with all the nine and all the four down you count another 10 or 100 you move them all up and start it all over again. When you stop measuring all you have to do is count the beads. Let's say one of your nine beads is ten meters , that makes one of your four beads worth 100 meters. If you stop to count and you have 3 beads of the four and 7 of the nine you have 370 meters. Like I said it will work with anything. This example is with meters, you can use km, miles, inches or anything. As long as you stay measuring the same thing. If you still have questions just ask! You can even count hairs as long as you give the beads a value of miles or meters or inches or what ever and one of the four is ten times one of the nine.
