No, it isn't. I got it thru a lawn sale over the summer and it works 100%.

I am being charged 6 dollars a month for a cable modem from my cable company. After paying this for 3 yrs I think I have bought several already. I guess it is time to stop giving money away!!!!

It sure is a lot to pay to the cable company. This way it cuts out the
middle man and also gives you the freedom of going wifi in your
home. The money it would save! Good luck!!
