These are amazing plants. They are worshipped by the Buddhist Monks and have been a loved plant for centuries in the mountains of China :) There are so few left in the world. Help re populate them!!
I will send with gift wrapping if requested in a gift box with tracking :)

Banana, Golden Lotus (Musella lasiocarpa)
Family: Banana (Musaceae)
Protect from frost. Native to Southeast Asia. The potted plant grows to about 4 feet tall and equally as wide. Outdoors, in a prime position, they may get much larger. Flowering usually occurs in the second year, a golden crownlike affair that is really quite sensational. These plants do very well in large pots in the greenhouse, or they can be planted outdoors in the summer and the pups (side shoots) potted up and brought indoors to overwinter. They don't make edible fruit. Used in indigenous cultures for environmentally friendly disposable dinner plates, basket weaving, fodder for stock, and as a medicinal herb (hemostatic). Plant prefers full sun, evermoist soil with a high nitrogen content. Very fast grower.

It can live down to zone 5 and 6. However it will die down every winter and then grow back. Make sure to mulch heavily in the fall. It needs heavy shade when it is a seed to grow. Then partial shade as a plant.

Well I do not know. It does grow here in NY. It dies down in the winter. I believe with Heavy mulching in the fall it should come back in the spring. I you win the auction I will send you 2 extra seeds so that you can grow them inside. They need shade to get started. So I always start them inside anyway. But you can do either.
