Artist signed shelf mushroom/artists conk. This is an actual type of fungus (non toxic) that grows in trees in moist areas. It is mounted on an 8x4 inch wood platform. Very unique and beautiful!

It is an awesome idea! I have a mushroom like this growing in the woods next to my house. I've watched it grow from small to large. I may ask my daughter if she can paint a picture on it....

Yes it is. I did one for my mom years ago. Just have to be sure they are dry and be very careful not to scratch the surface as they are very soft before they dry. Once dry, they are like wood. If you google "shelf mushroom" you can see some really nice ones.
