This is a beautiful Trifari necklace , I got here on Listia. I didn't know it was Trifari when I got it, but I started to read a bit about the "hangtag" which kind of looks like a little key ! (How many of these , I've bought and sold not knowing!! lol). It also not your usual Trifari rhinestone type of necklace , in fact I've never seen another like it! Which for a collector is the kind of piece you want! The "Faux Ivory " looks quite real! And even handcarved!! The only giveaway it there are visible seams. (I don't know if these are Bakelite , but someone , a specialist in Trifari , might know! ). I found no other markings on here. OH!! And I just Noticed!! The Hangtag looks liked a Crown on top of the T (For Crown Trifari , I presume!) . This necklace is possibly also from the "Jewels of India" collection, or "Ming Collection" (I'm guessing), as it is very much Asian influence! These pieces with the Crown Trifari hangtag were made between the 1940' and 1960's , and the designer was Cartier's own designer,Albert Philippe who later became a Super Star of high end Fashion jewelry in the same class or higher than Kenneth Jay Lane, Miriam Haskell , Coco Chanel , Carolee, just to name a few. Albert Phillipe was a fantastic jewelry designer and made jewelry for many world famous people, while at Trifari.His designs command higher prices than even gold or silver jewelry with real stones!! His following not only still collects, but new collectors are sweeping up the vintage Trifari at a rapid pace! The pics are a bit deceiving the color of the chains is a warm deep goldtone, and even with no signs of wear. The Faux Ivory has aged some , but added only to the patina and beauty of this piece!
