Agreed 100%! I don't know why everything seems so blah, but even the new coins irk my nerves. I don't like the new pennies or any that aren't copper as they get corrosion to fast. Seems very hard to get a nice near mint coin in circulation anymore, and the other coins are the same. Virtually leaving our currency worth nothing. I don't what makes me more upset about our currency the fact that it holds up like carp or is worth less than carp lol.

I'm not looking for toucans and palm trees or anything but a little bit of intrigue in our currency wouldn't hurt our economy would it :)

nice note man

I agree, seems our currency is a loser when compared to other countries. I believe that we could take a big step at making out currency collectible by making it more scenic, we all know that our country has a lot to offer and can still keep the same faces with different obverses in my opinion. I thought when they came out with colored notes that, they would do more to enhance them but still nothing. Thanks for the great comment.

I'd love to see them do a serries of something like our National Parks or National Monuments with a little color on the reverse. Talk about creating a market. They hit the jack pot with the quarters in 99 and it drove the prices on us coins way up. now you can pick up a 99 siver proof set for around $150. I remember seeing them over $350. The whole quarter thing burned a lot of folks out I think. then these pennies uhhhg. They find something that works then drive it into the ground. They should maybe do a serries for a few years then go back to the original design for a good 5 or 10 years and make them a little more collectible. Or even run both at the same time with limited mintages on some. SHEESH :) Who am I though???
just Skinny old Fat Tony :)

Yes sir, that makes two of us who feel that way. Don't forget about the nickels and when will we get a new half dollar? I think JFK has had the longest run on that coin. Those who are in charge of the money and making the design have seemed to fail just as those who make the current stamps. Seems that we need the government to hire someone who knows art. I will say that I like the dollar coins and am glad that they are finally making more. I have a bunch of com. coins that are more fun to look at than recent minted coins. Maybe that is because they are .999. lol, I am glad that I am not the only one who feels this way about the currency.
