The listing, Vintage Ice Cream Paddle Carnation Co Large Metal Scoop EUC has ended.

This is an old ice cream paddle(I think)
Most of the ones you find now are all pitted up but this one is in really nice condition.
It is made of metal..some kind of aluminum--it has a substantial weight to it.
The handle is hammered on one side.
It is engraved with the Carnation floral logo on the paddle part.
It measures 8 1/2" and it about 3" wide at the widest part.
It has a hole in the end for hanging.
I am not sure of the exact age.

This is quite lovely! This is actually a "Butter Paddle" from the early 1900'S Made from heavy pot metal. Thank you for sharing!

I never heard of pot metal before but it makes sense. The metal doesn't really have the "feel" of regular aluminum or cast iron. It is smooth--I actually like the feel of it.

It might be a butter paddle but all the ones I have seen look similar but made of wood. It is interesting but I believe it is an ice cream scoop. Whatever, it's cool.

I have many old salt and pepper shakers made out of pot ash and the metal is not very sturdy. It can break easily. Just saying.

this one is pretty sturdy--I gave up trying to guess the metal but it does feel smooth.
