Good. Bad. It's all bad for John Constantine... Except this comic book is all good. This single issue (#63) is voted among the top 100 comic books of all time!!! That's not bad! Good luck to you!

- CONSTANTINE #63 - "Forty" - Forty bloody years... Having been born in 1953 (literally not metaphorically), with the birth of Vertigo in 1993, John Constantine was turning 40 and Garth Ennis dedicated an entire issue to the event.

Although John initially doesn't expect much from his birthday he does arrive home to see a group of old friends waiting for him and the group drink the night away. Although the friends are all from his past some are never seen again, and others only truly met in later issues... but two significant and unexpected guests arrive in the form of the Phantom Stranger and Swamp Thing, the former who's shoes were pee'd on by a drunk Constantine and the latter who arrived angrily only to find it wasn't John who called him and that it was supposed to be a birthday surprise to which he does his best to be cordial despite past grievances. After the festivities conclude, Kit comes home to see her residence trashed and John passed out and she is NOT happy... Let's get drunk!

The main man Garth Ennis... who also worked on the movie, btw. Are you into Vertigo books?

Ahhh yes, Tara... you speak the language. But no, not Moore. It's probably more of an homage... with lots of fun. Which titles are you reading?

He's a good one to follow. I have a DCE V for Vendetta among my titles on Listia. But I personally have a few of his works. I discovered him late, so nothing I have is early. I've read Watchmen too many times. 8')

Not yet. The collector in me won't allow it... but I get really friendly when I'm tipsy, so that's one way to get 'em. 8')

I don't know where here is, but here is where it's at. Heheheh... I could go here and have a beer, but I like it here. Should I go here or should I stay here? Where is here?

I'm from Calif... and believe it or not, in thinking of nearby travel locations where I'd love to have a beer, Oregon is tops. Not sure where to be in Oregon; Portland, perhaps? Colorado and Washington are secondary contenders, maybe. Have you ever been to these other two? Unfamiliar with these 3; simple surroundings with good people would be nice... You seem like good people. 8')
