now dont forget its been stored away for a long time,it takes 2 D batteries and if everything is ok than the light and toot toot works if I can get the batteries before the end I will try it and let you know ok Have a very Merry Christmas

The battery powered train if it will not run with the batteries in it than the motor is junk.

it doesnt run on batteries the batteries go in the engine to make the light work ETC.

Good mixed auction, but buyers should know that set in the box with plastic track does NOT require transformer, but HEAVY engines do, and those will only run on metal track. Batteries in plastic engines ARE required to make them run, not just to make lights work. Not running? Bad motors.
Batteries shipped just raise your cost. Batteries you ship but not used for months do not behave like they were new. "Buyer" should decide what strength of batteries they want -- it makes a difference.
