trying to clarify - looking at the earring as a circle as shown in the picture - thin wire on one side (either right or left) slides into hollow tube looking thing on other side - so that it is a completely circle without anything poking out that hurts my ear when I sleep - sorry - I will try again if you need :)

they have a clasp on the back that the post go's through the post sticks out a little on the back side hope that helps
