What type of material is the rose painted on ? Hard Plastic?

tammy the brooch is def. NOT plastic. It feels like ceramic or stone. It is way too heavy for plastic! It is also something I inherited, that Grandmother would have rather died than been caught wearing plastic jewelry,lol!
